Ruby Estelle Moore Brown was welcomed into heaven on November 21, 2017 at Oak Forest Health and Rehab. She was born June 3, 1934 in Lawsonville, NC to the late William Homer Moore and Fannie Wall Moore.
She was married to Paul Edward Brown (deceased). She is survived by her children – Kay Farmer (Larry) of Germanton, NC; Tim (Carrie) of Pfafftown, NC; Connie Casey (Jack) of Clemmons, NC; Ronnie (Robin) of Verona, VA; and Ann (Russell) Davis of Rural Hall, NC; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is brother, Benny Moore (Julia) of Plano, TX; sister-in-law, Irene Moore of Winston-Salem, NC and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are Paul’s siblings and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Ernest (Christine); Sam (Lee); Helon (Irene); and sister, Marie (Ivan).
She was a member of Winston Salem First (Assembly of God Church) for as long as she could attend services, volunteering in the nursery and children’s ministry. Her career was private duty nursing at first as a CNA and then as a LPN. The family would like to thank everyone at Oak Forest Health and Rehabilitation and Hospice for her care during her later years.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday at Frank Vogler & Sons, 2951 Reynolda Rd, Winston-Salem, NC with Dr. Elizabeth Ashby officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service for a visitation. Interment will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park Cemetery.
