Richard was born November 25, 1930, in Chicago, IL to the late Terrence M. Human and the late Margaret Fitzgerald Human. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Braun Human and a brother, Terrence Human.
Dick was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Bishop Charles P. Greco 9499 at Holy Family. He was also a member of American Legion Lewisville Post 522. He retired from Microfiber’s in Winston-Salem after 20 plus years of service. Dick was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, loved his family, and was the nicest and kindest man you would ever meet. He was funny with a great sense of humor until the end. Dick was a US Navy veteran serving during the Korean War in Japan.
Richard was survived by eight children, Sr. Adele Human of Springfield, IL, Mary Evans and husband, Matthew of Elgin, IL, Rita Ponce and husband, Fred of Winston-Salem, Richard Human, of Hickory Hills, IL, Paula Griffin and husband, Scott of Clemmons, Raymond Human of Clemmons, James Human and wife, Robin of Lexington, NC, and Christopher Human and Micaela Ellison of Winston-Salem, NC; 18 grandchildren, Joseph Kaminski, Daniel Kaminski, Jacqueline Evans, Michael Ponce and wife, Lindsay, Margaret Ponce, Matthew Ponce and wife, Ashley, Sarah Human, Kristen Human, Richard Human, Phillip Griffin, Christine Griffin, Nicholas Griffin, Bradley Griffin, David Griffin, Laura McKenna and husband, William, James Human, Thomas Human, and Anna Human; five great grandchildren, Samuel Johnston, Cori Gregory, Emelyn Ponce, Joseph Kaminski, Jr., and Vincent Ponce, brother in law, Richard Braun and wife, Susan of Wheaton, IL and a life long friend Roger Loeffler, and seven nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held 11 AM, Saturday, October 11th at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Steve Hoyt officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM, Friday, October 10th at Frank Vogler and Sons Funeral Home, Clemmons Chapel.
