Ralph Leroy Cox Jr., 96, of Winston-Salem passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Regency Care of Clemmons. He was born December 13, 1919 in Rowan County, N.C. to Ralph Leroy Cox, Sr. and Anna Lee Horah Cox. He was a veteran of the US Army and was retired from Southern Railway. Mr. Cox was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruhmel Wilson Cox, sisters Sara Furches, Virginia Myers, Betty Tedder, Alice Owens, brothers Clarence, Jim, Frank and George. Surviving are two sons, Ralph W(Sue) of Winston- Salem and Greg (Bobbie) of Greensboro; grandchildren, Brian (Laura) of Raleigh; Michael (Allison) of Atlanta GA; Kristen of Ashburn, VA and Chris of Fairfax, VA; four great grandchildren Keira and Bryce of Raleigh; Cameron and Collyns of Atlanta; brother, Bobby E. Cox; and sister, Juanita Newberry, both of Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday at Frank Vogler & Sons Reynolda Chapel with Dr. Gus Thomas and Dr. Cecil Cave officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. A family graveside service will be held Monday at 11:00am at Forsyth Memorial Park.
