David Allen Hutchens, 71, passed away on November 12th, in Winston-Salem, NC. He was born on August 18, 1953. David spent 2 years in the United States Army. He also was a firefighter for the Yadkinville Volunteer Fire Department in the early 80s. His youngest child, Chris Hutchens, is a current member of that department following in his father’s and uncle Bill’s footsteps. David loved decorating big time for every holiday. He also loved working outside in his wood shop, playing golf, before being diagnosed with cancer, and he loved fishing. If you saw him, he always had a smile on his face. He met a lot of people who loved him in his lifetime. He never met a stranger. He was really a great father, grandfather, great grandfather, husband and overall, a person who will be deeply missed.
David has gone to reunite with his wife in heaven of 27 years Rita Hutchens, along with his mother Cindy Melton, father Hobert Ray Hutchens, stepfather Wayne Melton, sister Cathy Melton, brother Bill Hutchens and daughter Amy Leigh Hutchens. David had 2 children: daughter Kimberly Iqbal and her children Fazia ( Dylan) Griffith, Nobia (Saizan) Iqbal, Mana and Isha. And son Christopher Hutchens and his children Witten, Taitley and Hunter Hutchens. He also had 2 stepdaughters: Becky ( Tim Shoffner ) their children Shianne , Jaden and Landon. Mandy McDaniel and her children Lexi, Jake, Kelsey, Alyssa and Kaitlyn. Donnie ( Vicky ) Lail and their children, Skyler and Zarek. He also had Extended Children that he thought a lot of. Ellen ( Austin ) Doby and their Children Kassy, Emma and Becca. He also has 4 great grandchildren.
The family would also like to extend a thank you to Davie County EMS, the staff at Forsyth Hospital, and the Great Staff at Kate B Reynolds Hospice Home for taking amazing care of David. Also his pastor, Randy Quate, of Deep Creek Friends Meeting for the wonderful visits, Bible studies, and prayer while he was in the hospital.
