Mr. Charles Kenneth McIver, 85, of Salemtowne Retirement Community peacefully passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2011 while at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born in Forsyth County to Donald W. and Emma E. McIver. Mr. McIver was a graduatre of the 1949 Class at Hanes High School.
He was a valuable and dedicated employee of the veterans Administration for a number of years and played the organ for three Moravian Churches (Friedburg, Emanual, and Pine Chapel). Mr. McIver was a Mason for over sixty years.
In addition to his parents, Mr. McIver was preceded in death by a brother Robert Lede McIver. Those l;eft to cherish his memory include a brother Daniel W. McIver and his wife Shirley; nephew Bob McIver and his wife Susab; and niece Vicki McIver.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 17, 2011, at the Vogler and Sons Reynolda Chapel, a Dignity Memorial Provider, 2951 Reynolda Road (336-722-6106), with burial to follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
