Vovi Gerard Vu, 44, passed away at Suncoast Hospice in Palm Harbor, FL on December 3rd, 2019. Vovi was deeply loved by his family and many friends. He was born in Minneapolis, MN on October 31st, 1975. He was the youngest of three children born to Kimloan Thi Nguyen and Hoang Van Vu. Vovi was a valued member of the Frenchy’s family and worked at Rockaway Grill on Clearwater Beach, FL. He was a generous and truly thoughtful man.
He always considered others above himself. He was a true renaissance man. His life passion was playing and producing music. He enjoyed watching movies and playing chess. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. His favorite activity was spending time with his wife and family. He will be remembered for his courage throughout his illness and we take solace in knowing that he is no longer suffering.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 12 years, Michele Stockdale Vu; mother and step-father, Kimloan Nguyen and KimTho Huynh, of Lutz, FL; mother-in-law, Sandra Stockdale and father-in-law, Jerry Stockdale of Palm Harbor, FL; brothers Hoat Vu of Dallas, TX and Dinh Vu of Clearwater, FL; step-sisters Valerie Huynh of Wesley Chapel, FL and Sandrine Huynh of Orlando, FL; very special Minnesota-based friends-of-the-family Harry & Lois Weidner, and Joe & Marie Medvec; sister-in-law, Patrice Hubbs, brother-in-law, Perry Hubbs and niece, Chloe Hubbs of Tampa, FL.
Memorial Service will be 2pm, Thursday Dec 12th at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home followed by a Celebration of Life gathering.
