Robert is preceded in death by his wife of nearly 50 years, Joyce C. Bishop. He is survived by his children, Robert (Maria) Bishop Jr., Carol (Mark) Moletz, Kathleen (John) McNamara, Barbara (Wayne) Ragucci, and James Bishop, as well as eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Bob is also survived by two stepchildren, Nelson Petzold, and Pamela Troutman, and many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bob was born in Lynbrook, New York to James and Betty Bishop. He spent many years in New Jersey and New York until eventually settling in Florida. For the last several years, he had lived at St Mark Village in Palm Harbor where he enjoyed spending time with his friends and fellow veterans.
Bob was a proud and decorated Korean War Veteran who honorably served in the 8226 Signal Service Corp in the United States Army. For his service, he earned 3 Bronze Stars. He graduated from the College of Engineering in Newark, New Jersey, and was a Founding Partner of Metra Associates, Inc., in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Bob’s favorite sport and hobby throughout his life was playing golf.
Bob will be forever missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. Rest in Peace Dear Robert.
A visitation for Robert will be held Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 2853 SUNSET POINT RD, CLEARWATER, FL 33759. A Funeral Service will be following from 11:00 AM to 11:30am. A Graveside Service will be from 12:00 PM to 12:30pm Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park
