Michael Sheehan, 65, of Port Richey, Florida, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022. He was born in Babylon, New York, on January 23, 1957, to parents Anne and Jeremiah Sheehan. He was the fourth child in a family of five children and was the only boy; he loved his sisters dearly. Michael married his high school sweetheart, Donna Caldarelli, on March 30, 1980, and they had two children together, Meghan (in 1984) and Daniel (in 1985).
Michael loved and appreciated nature, especially the mountains, and always dreamed about exploring out west. He enjoyed kayaking and loved woodworking, even once combining his two passions and building his own beautiful wood kayak. He was an American history buff and read every book on the subject (twice!). Michael could have a conversation with anyone on any topic; he was friendly, kind and smart. He loved stretching out on the couch with his dogs to watch movies and comedy; he was always up for a laugh. He was a great cook and even owned a pizzeria at one point in his career.
Michael was preceded in death by his wife Donna (in 2001), sister Barbara Sheehan (in 2018), and brother-in-law Thomas Fusaro (in 2000). He is survived by his sisters Frances Fusaro, Karen Sheehan Rogovitz, and JoAnne Long (Daniel); his daughter Meghan Ford (William) and son Daniel Sheehan (Chloe Brittenham); and three grandchildren, Donna Ford, Edsel Ford, and Billie Ford.
They will miss him and his jelly bean-filled pockets.
A Visitation for Michael will be held Tuesday, October 4, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Rd, Funeral Service begins at 1:30 PM followed by Entombment at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, Clearwater, FL.
