Linda was a beloved seamstress, quilt maker, and teacher, who sadly departed from this world on 30 January 2024, after a very sudden and unexpected decline in her health. Surrounded by family and friends, Linda passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of creativity, warmth, and dedication.
Born on March 28th, 1949, Linda discovered her passion for sewing and quilting at an early age. She transformed ordinary pieces of fabric into works of art, weaving together intricate patterns that reflected her unique artistic vision. As a seamstress, Linda had a remarkable ability to turn simple cloth into garments that not only adorned the body but also told stories of craftsmanship and care.
Beyond her skills with needle and thread, Linda was a dedicated quilt maker. Each quilt was a masterpiece, a labor of love that showcased her attention to detail and commitment to creating something truly special. The quilts she crafted were not just blankets; they were heirlooms that brought warmth and comfort to countless homes, embodying the love and care she poured into every stitch.
In addition to her remarkable talents as a seamstress and quilt maker, Linda was also a passionate teacher. She generously shared her knowledge and skills with students of all ages, inspiring them to explore their own creativity and embrace the art of sewing and quilting. her patience and encouraging spirit created a nurturing environment in her classes, fostering a love for craftsmanship in every person she encountered.
Linda's impact extended far beyond the sewing room and classroom. She leaves behind a tapestry of memories, stitched together by her love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to the craft she held so dear. Her legacy will live on in the quilts that warm our homes, the garments that grace our bodies, and the lessons she imparted to those fortunate enough to be touched by her guidance.
Linda was a cherished member of the Mercedes-Benz Club of America for almost 40 years, amongst the many areas she was involved in, Linda was a Club President for multiple terms, Producer of the club newsletter, and road trip organizer. Linda had a passion for Mercedes-Benz automobiles and an unwavering commitment to fostering camaraderie among fellow enthusiasts which was evident through her dedication to organizing events, rallies, and gatherings that brought joy to countless members and strengthened the bonds within the club. Her impact on the Mercedes-Benz Club of America has been immeasurable, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of over 60 years, Paul J. Cooper, her son, Sean Cooper, and his wife Heather, her daughter, Amy Somers, and her husband Joseph, along with her grandchildren, Ansley, Grayson, Madison, Marlena, Dennis, Amanda, and Donald. Linda also leaves behind her sisters, Jenny Rogers and Suzy Rost, along with countless extended family members and many loyal friends. Paul and Linda originally met in high school while she was attending Saint Ursala High, and he was attending Saint Xavier High. After attending college, Paul and Linda married on December 30th, 1967, and have been together ever since.
A celebration of her life will be held on a date and location to be determined later. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her legacy continue to inspire creativity and warmth for generations to come.
