June Mercer White died June 4, 2015 as she approached her 95th birthday. She was born in Toronto, Canada and moved to Florida with a young family in 1953. She was preceded by her husband, John L. White after a loving marriage of over 60 years. For all those years she cared for Jack after he suffered a disabling WWII injury. She was also preceded by her Mother, Nellie Smith Mercer; Father, Harry Mercer; and sister, Lenore Mercer Martin. Also preceding her was her loving cat, Maggie; a stray that quickly became her Princess Margaret. She is survived by her only daughter, Bonnie W. Fazio (husband Vincent) with whom she lived since 2000. She is also survived by granddaughter, Victoria F. Miller (husband Steve); grandson, John V. Fazio (wife Jennifer); and five great-grandchildren who were all able to know her loving ways, Emma Miller, Audrey Miller, Megan Fazio, Jack Fazio, and Gwen Fazio. The funeral service, officiated by Chaplain John C. Fitts, will be held at Sylvan Abby, 2853 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, Fl 33759 on Wednesday June 10, 2015, with visitation one hour prior. Entombment will be at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park at 3pm. The family’s charity preference is Alzheimer’s Foundation – alzfdn.org. June was a very talented artist producing many family treasures. She loved china painting, beading, knitting, and marketry (inlaid wood). Her biggest gift was the love she had for all of us. When she was being evaluated for admission to assisted living, they asked her to write down a sentence. Her choice: “I love my family.” We love her dearly and she will be missed by all. May she be at peace with Jack.
