Karsten,Julius Raymond (Juke) age 94 passed away on Saturday February 7,, 2015. He was born in Holland, Michigan to Stephen and Lena Karsten March 16, 1920. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Pauline Vincent Karsten (Pauly) who passed away on March 8, 2006. They were married at Quantico, VA April 22, 1942. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dr. Kenneth S. Karsten. He was a long time resident of Holland, Michigan. He graduated from Holland High School and attended Hope College. Over the course of his career with the United States Marine Corp and then as an Executive in the Pleasure Boat Manufacturing industry he and his wife lived in many different part's of the country. Upon retirement settling for several year's in Melbourne, FL - they then moved to Palm Harbor, FL in 2005. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1942 as a private and continued in the USMC reserves retiring as a Lt. Colonel with over 37 years of service. After his retirement he was a volunteer with the International Executive Service Corps, he and Pauly, completed assignments in Brazil, Sri Lanka, Jamaica, and Ukraine. Following retirement, he also conducted Adult Education classes in Material Management, Purchasing and Supervisory Development in St. Petersburg and the Pasco Hernando Community College. Juke was also a faithful blood donor over the course of his lifetime. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Palm Harbor, FL. He was also a Life member of the Military Officer's Association of America, the Cape Canaveral Chapter. And, a member of the Melbourne American Legion Post #163. He was a wonderful father and grandfather who loved to travel the world. He enjoyed his life long relationship's with family and friends. Juke is survived by his three children, Karen (Gary) Klingenberg, Stephanie (Bill) Riddling and Stephen (Teddi) Karsten - all of whom reside in Florida; three grandchildren, Kirt (Kristie) Klingenberg, Kristin (Steve) Mills and John (Cindy) Riddling; nine great-grandchildren, Konner, Kollin, Karsten and Karter Klingenberg, Owen, Dylan and Hayden Mills, Cheyenne Riddling and Laken Jones. The family will be having a private service. Burial will be in the family plot in Holland, MI.
