John G. Thompson

John G Thompson, age 80, of Tampa, Florida passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021. John was born May 30, 1941 in Rahway, New Jersey to Andrew Thompson and Marguerite Giroud Thompson. He is survived by his loving wife; Marion, his children; Dieter Thompson, Eric (Forrest) Thompson, and Jen (Mark) Naugle, his grandchildren; Taylor (Olivia) Thompson, Wade (Whitney) Thompson, Max Bravo, Quinn Bravo and Amelia Bravo, Sloane Thompson and Dylan Thompson, along with many nieces and nephews. John is preceded in death by a brother; Peter Thompson and sister; Harriet Stox.

John was well known for his work ethic and professionalism. He put a lot of dedication and time into his career and thoroughly took pleasure in working. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, having dogs, fishing, duck hunting and walking on the beach. John always loved the Thanksgiving holiday, and he also loved making memories with his family, who will miss him dearly.

A visitation will occur Monday, October 25, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Sylvan Abbey - Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, FL 33759. A funeral service will occur Monday, October 25, 2021 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM and a graveside service for John will be held Monday, October 25, 2021 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, 2860 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, FL 33759.
