Ida Robinson Pagenta Ida was born March 21, 1921 in Bocas del Toro, Panama Republic of Panama. Retired and came to live in Clearwater in 1988 settling in Top of The World retirement community. Self-made entrepreneur business woman insurance executive. She was co-founder together with her husband Daniel A. Pagenta Sr. of Colonial Insurance Company of Panama. Her passion was to serve, and everywhere she went she let her testimony shine through her gift of giving and caring for the sick, the handicapped, children, the elderly and sharing Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Ida together with Dan served in the leadership as a Gideon Auxiliary in Panama as well in the US here in the Pinellas North Camp of Clearwater. For many years they would report on behalf of Panama at the annual Gideons International Convention. Her passion to give and share included caring for the needs of the New Tribes missionaries in Panama, Campus Crusade for Christ, her own children's program broadcasted Christian radio HOXO (The Voice of the Isthmus) known as Tia Ida (Aunt Ida) plus her work with Women's Mission Union (WMU) overseas and here in the US. Of note in Calvary Baptist Church she led the quilting knitting group that created thousands of blankets, and accessories for needy mothers, infants and the elderly. Ida served the community of Panama as an active Rotarian wife and sponsor of the Boys Scouts of America Troop 24 Balboa Canal Zone. She is survived by her children: Yolanda Holmes, Leo Gutierrez and Daniel A Pagenta Jr. Her son and daughter in-laws include: Eugenia Raquel Pagenta, Bryan Holmes, and Julieta Gutierrez. The grandchildren include: Joseph Daniel Pagenta, Michael Arthur Pagenta, Brandon Holmes, Natasha Holmes, Ian Holmes, Leo Daniel Gutierrez, Ida Leonor Gutierrez and Luis Eduardo Gutierrez. Her sister Emma Dowlin Robinson is alive and is her only surving sibling of four brothers and three sisters. The legacy of her fourth generation anchors the beginning and the new beginning by: Raul Alberto Carbonell, Camila Leonor Garcia de Paredes, Chad Gutierrez, Rose Gutierrez, Sofia Abi Gutierrez and Jack Thomas Gutierrez; Christopher Alexander Holmes, Aiden Axel Nunez, Maeson Asher Holmes, Weslee Grazia Holmes; Isabel Constance Holmes, Gideon Arturo Holmes; Loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and servant leader mentor to everybody she came in contact with throughout her life. A memorial service will be held at 10:30a.m. Saturday September 19, 2015 in Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home.
