NICHOLS, Frederick L. 89, of New Port Richey, FL. passed away October 23, 2017. He was born October 12, 1928 in Cohocton, New York, the son of Fred and Florence Nichols. On July 3rd 1948 he married Marilyn Bell in Wayland, New York. He is predeceased by his parents, his wife of 54 years, Marilyn, a daughter; Dianne Lederhouse and a son; Ronald Nichols. He is survived by his sister; May Gross, a son; Glenn (Cathy) Nichols of Florida and a daughter; Debra (Gary) Wood of New York, and beloved partner of 15 years; Irma Catalano. He is also survived by six grandchildren; Brian (Teresa Mitchell) Lederhouse and Russell (Kelly) Lederhouse of Virginia, Jason (Theresa) Nichols of Texas, Michael Nichols of Florida, Brett Wood and Lynne (Chris) Castle of New York, 10 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In his early years Frederick enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, bowling, boating and card games. His successful career was in wood furniture manufacturing for companies such as Gunlocke, Ron McDole Enterprises and Hinkle Harris. He and Marilyn retired to Florida in 1983 and he was a member of Holiday United Church of Christ for many years. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2017 from 5p.m. to 8p.m. at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park. Donations to the American Cancer Society at cancer.org in lieu of flowers.
