Eleanor created enlarged typing for grammar and college books for Catholic Charities for people who were partially blind. These book are registered in the Library of Congress, Washington, D.C.
In her free time, Eleanor loved to knit. She knitted a cable sweater for her daughter; Eileen and numerous Afghan blankets that are still cherished. Eleanor also loved to dance, especially the lindy. She enjoyed bowling as well.
Eleanor cherished her motherhood. She adored her children and would rock them to sleep from youngest to oldest. Motherhood had it's challenges, as Eleanor knew. So she created a babysitting rotation between her and the other mothers of the neighborhood so each could have a day off. She also taught the women in her neighborhood how to drive.
Eleanor was very organized and truly had a zest for life. She planned block parties to bring everyone together. She even held a wedding at her house for her best friend's daughter. She made sure every detail was perfect down to making the cake. Eleanor was an excellent baker. She would make doll birthday cakes as well.
Eleanor had a wonderful laugh and will be dearly missed by her family and friends she leaves behind.
