My sweet mother, Donna Mae, went to be with her Savior early Saturday morning, December 20, 2014. I know that God's timing is perfect, and He took her home at Christmastime when love's light appeared. My mom was a light of God's love, a more than precious woman who loved her family more than life. Most obituaries are filled with the external things, a long list of life's accomplishments. My mom's accomplishments were the ones that truly mattered. She was my hero. What I will remember the most about my mom are the internal things. She was so patient and kind. A good friend of mine said she was always smiling and full of grace. She was so giving to the point of going without. She was so forgiving and always saw the best in me. She was such a supporter and encourager. My dreams were her dreams. She was so humble, never boastful, although she made the best cookies ever! She was a faithful friend. She was a wonderful daughter who cared for her parents and her in-laws (her Dad lived with my parents for nine years). No one could have loved my Dad more than my mom ("More" was their song). For me to describe her as a mom and how special she was.....well, they haven't created a word for it yet here on earth. She was truly beautiful inside and out. She didn't even realize just how gorgeous she was! I am blessed beyond words to call her my mom! She will be missed, but I know I will see her again someday. My mom had a beautiful voice and I know she is singing in heaven. I will forever cherish each memory of my mother so dear. I love her so much.
