A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 PM, Sunday, April 14th at Stix Billiards, 38529 US Hwy 19N, Palm Harbor, FL 34684. Dave preferred not to have a service, so we want to honor his wishes and celebrate with family and friends that loved him.
Dave was born November 4th, 1948 in Rockville Centre, Long Island, New York to William and Priscilla (Hatter) Duck. He graduated from Vestal High School in 1967, an Associate in Applied Science from Broome Technical Community College in 1969 and a Bachelor of Science Business and Economics (Minor of Psychology) from University of Tampa in 1971. He then went on to work in management at Yakle Lumber Yard and then worked many years as Manager for multiple Cox Lumber Locations in Florida as well as one location in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands until he retired in 2009.
Dave was an avid reader and loved to play pool. Most of all he was well known in the area because of his amazing ability to be friends to all and his humor from his smart-aleck personality. If you knew Dave, you more than likely loved the man as he was a very kind and genuine person. Dave listed in his will that his proudest family moment was having 5 beautiful children that have always made him proud!
Dave is survived by his two sons Christopher Duck, Ryan Duck, three daughters Pamela (Duck) Barnes, Katherine (Duck) Moore, Jennifer (Duck) Finehirsh, sister Janice Taylor and 10 loving grandchildren. Dave was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend to everyone that knew him.
