Clara Mary Curcio (Critelli) peacefully passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Lourdes McKeen in West Palm Beach Florida. Clara was born on May 4, 1925 in New York City, New York to Joseph and Francesca Critelli. She was one of nine children and their youngest daughter. She spoke often of her parents and her siblings. She would share stories of her wonderful childhood and family get-togethers where members of her family would play various instruments. She was raised in a family with an abundance of love.
She found her soul mate in Achilles Curcio. They married in June of 1951. Shortly thereafter, they expanded their family with the birth of Julie, followed by Sal and John. She dedicated her life to caring for her husband and raising their three children.
Clara was very creative and spent countless hours quilting, making dolls and sewing clothes for her children and grandchildren. She made lifelong friends as a member of Beta Sigma Phi Friendship Sorority. She enjoyed entertaining, especially preparing macaroni and gravy for her family and friends on Sunday.
She adored her eight grandchildren; Greg (Sharon), Johnny, Christopher (Venecia), Holly (Billy), Sarah (Daniel), Adrienne (Joe), Becky (Pierre) and Erica (JT). She was the proud great-grandmother of Gianna, Andrew, Tyler, Parker, Reef, Taylor, Athrun, Calla, Charlotte, Capri, Luca, Sophia and Cole.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband “Artie”, daughter Julie and granddaughter Becky. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons Sal (Debra) and John (Diane), her son-in-law Jay, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her family pays this tribute to her: “She was a living ray of sunshine, so sweet and always smiling. She radiated love and kindness to everyone she encountered. She opened her heart and her home to so many people. She will be sorely missed.”
