Born May 29th 1944 in Kansas City, Missouri she was the daughter of Irad and Anna Marie Soptick Coy. Carole moved to Florida in Nov. 2011 from Springfield, Virginia. She was an accomplished Artist specializing in watercolors with many awards for her paintings – her most noteworthy being judged best-in-show by the Deputy Director of Washington D.C.’s famed Corcoran Art Museum. She was the Administrative Assistant to the President of George Mason University followed by eight years as a special assistant to the Director of Alumni Activities until retirement in 2010.
Carole is survived by her two sons Douglas (Jennifer) Richardson III of Clearwater and John (Ruza) Richardson of St. Petersburg. She is also survived by her grandson Johnny Richardson of St. Petersburg.
A memorial service will be Saturday, March 9th at 11am at the First United Methodist .Church of Saint Petersburg-located at 212 3rd St. North. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Fisher House Foundation or the Wounded Warrior Project.
