Born on September 14, 1941 in Clearfield, PA, he was the son of Cecil and Cecelia (Ross) Passmore.
Mr. Passmore had served with the Clearfield Borough Police Force for twenty seven years, retiring as assistant chief in 1993.
He had also served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era.
Mr. Passmore was Methodist by faith.
He was a member of the John Lewis Shade Post #6 of the American Legion in Clearfield and the Clearfield Free and Accepted Masons Lodge Number 314. Mr. Passmore was a lifetime member of the Clearfield Fire Department and had was a former Clearfield Second Ward councilman.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly (English) Passmore, whom he married in 1964; two sons, Larry K. Passmore, Jr. and his wife Mona and Michael D. Passmore and his wife Dana, all of Mechanicsburg, PA; three grandchildren: Madison Passmore, Mayah Passmore and Benjamin Passmore; a sister, Barbara Yeager of Punxsutawney, PA; a brother, John Passmore and his wife Ann of Medina, OH; an aunt, Lois Wennin of Emporium, PA and numerous, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Passmore is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Rose Marlene Taylor and an infant sister, Joan Passmore.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield, PA, with Rev. Rodger J. Gorton officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Joy Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday, August 27, 2010 from 7:00-9:00 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 until the hour of services.
Graveside military honors will be accorded by the Clearfield Honor Guard with members from the John Lewis Shade Post #6 of the American Legion and F. Michael Sicks Post #1785 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Clearfield County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 541 Graham Station Road, Philipsburg, PA 16866.
