Karen J. Owens

She was born October 12, 1957 in Sandusky, OH the daughter of Willard and Betty Jane (Maines) Maines.

Karen was a graduate of Clearfield Area High School, Class of 1975 and the DuBois Business College, Class of 1977.

Mrs. Owens had worked at WCPA, QYX and WOKW as an on air broadcaster.

She was a member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church where she published the church newsletter and enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Phillies.

Karen is survived by her husband, Brian S. Owens whom she married November 18, 1978, her two sons; Barry Owens (Lauren) of Remington, VA and Devin Owens-Shutrump (Patrick) of Pittsburgh and a grandson, Raylan R. Owens.

Mrs. Owens was the last member of her generation having been preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Steven B. Maines.

Funeral Services will be held at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Sam Maines officiating. Interment will be in Bradford Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the hour of services.

The family suggest that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or a charity of the donor’s choice.
