He was born April 1, 1934 in Rolla, North Dakota to Anton and Josephine Eggen. Lloyd was seven years old when he and his family moved to Cle Elum, WA. He attended school in Cle Elum. He spent 2 years in the Marine Corp. and 2 years in the National Guard and received his training as a journeyman lineman while in the service.
He was married to Mary Hickenbottom in 1967 while living in Antioch, CA. They returned to Washington in 1967 and one son Tony was born of this union. The family moved back to Cle Elum in 1989. Lloyd worked as a journeyman lineman in Washington, Alaska and Canada.
Survivors include wife Mary; son Tony of Ellensburg, WA; three sisters Ann Stonestreet of Yakima, WA, Irene Warren of Auburn, WA, and Hazel Snyder (Jim) in Pacific, WA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his parents.
Memorials can be made to Hospice Friends in Ellensburg.
Graveside services on June 3, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Cle Elum. Family and friends are invited to the Eggen home after the services for lunch.
