Mary Frances Coats Williams

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 12, 2024 in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Bouck officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum of Pinecrest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mary Frances was born June 18, 1938, in Clayton North Carolina to the late Howard and Flonnie Lassiter Coats. In 1957 she graduated from Clayton High School and later retired with the North Carolina State Archives Department.

Mary Frances was one that had a very contagious laugh and tended to see the good in everything. She was sunny, and joyful and radiated a positive energy in everyone she met. She was once told by her boss that she didn't have to work and that she was such a morale booster that all she had to do was just show up and in fact she did. Planning lunches every day and filling every heart with her cackling laughter and joyous spirit.

Mary Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Gail Williams; brothers, Charles Coats and J.C. Coats; and a nephew, Johnny Coats.

She is survived by her brother, Jerry Coat and wife Phyllis, and their daughter Kristi; niece, Jackie Coats Melton and husband Billy; nephews, Frank Melton, Daryl Melton, John Faircloth, Terry Coats and wife Bebe, and their son, Hunter Coats and daughter, Casey Hardin.

The family would like to give a special thanks for the love and care she received at Lawndale Manor Assisted Living and Liberty Hospice Care.
