Linda Etta Narron Smith (77) returned to her Heavenly Home Saturday, January 15, 2022. She was residing at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC and held close by her sister, Ann, who stayed with her until the end.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Clayton. At the family’s request, attendees will be required to wear a mask.
Linda had an overwhelming, excitable energy. She brought life and exuberance wherever she went. When Linda hugged you, she held you close, and you could just feel how very much she loved you.
As a homemaker, she was very involved in her children’s lives. She cherished her son, Paul, and daughter, Paula. They both meant so much to her. She spoke of Paul often, especially in her last days. Now, she’s rejoicing in Heaven with Paula, whom she has prayed to be with for so many years.
Linda was a devoted caregiver to her husband, William, until the end. They were married January 20, 1961, spending more than 60 years together. Linda and William were instrumental in the founding of their church, Faith Bible Fellowship. Linda taught a children’s Sunday School class, helped in the church nursery, and showed hospitality to many visiting preachers. She loved others and, in turn, they loved her.
Linda’s grandchildren were a special joy to her, and they brought her much happiness. As time moved on, she was blessed with six great grandchildren, whom she loved greatly.
She loved her family and was an entertaining Aunt Linda! Most of her nieces and her nephew spent nights at her home and she always made sure there was lot of fun.
She was a caring and loving daughter, sister, and sister-in-law. Linda was a wonderful friend to many, especially her “Three Stooges” counterparts, Jean, and Nancy, and two other special friends Beverly and Bonnie.
She is preceded in death by her parents, OB and Beatrice Cooper Narron; sister, Betty Lou Narron Cockrell; and brother, Wayne Langston Narron.
Linda is survived by her husband Paul William Smith, Sr.; son, Paul William Smith, Jr.; grandson, Jared Smith; granddaughter, Amelia Smith Revels (Benji); sister, Ann Narron Kirby (Steve); in-laws, Joseph (Faye), Jimmy, Johnny, and Donald (Charlotte) Smith; great grandchildren, Molly, Mia, and Everett Smith; Brock, Dallas and Todd Revels; and several nieces and nephews.
