William Kenneth “Kennie” Crabtree, age 64, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born in Moore County on August 6, 1960 the son of Ralph Crabtree and the late Bertha Stanley Crabtree. Kennie worked for the State of North Carolina for 41 years and was a long time active member of Amelia Christian Church. He was the owner and operator of Crabtree Landscaping and was known and loved by many in the community.
In addition to his father, Kennie is also survived by his wife of 34 years, Darlene Crabtree; son, Will Crabtree; daughter, Ashton C. Phillips and husband, Justin; son, Ian Crabtree and his girlfriend, Christina Mitten; granddaughter, Harper Phillips; a brother, Mark Crabtree and his wife, Bridget; sister, Nancy Burgart and her husband, Jody; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha Crabtree.
A funeral service celebrating Kennie’s life will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024 at 2:00pm at Amelia Christian Church with the interment following at Pinecrest Memorial Park, Clayton. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 29, 2024 from 6:00 - 8:00pm at McLaurin Funeral Home, Clayton.
