Dennis Wayne Medlin

Dennis Wayne Medlin, age 61, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Duke Hospice Center in Durham. Born on November 4, 1962 in Wake County, he was a son to the late Hilliard Medlin and Alice Blalock Medlin.

Dennis graduated from Garner High School in 1981. He faced many trials in his life including cancer, strokes and several years of rehab we all will remember him as one of the most determined individuals you ever could meet and his motto was “NEVER GIVE UP”

In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf before his stroke, gardening, fishing, going to drag races, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. One of Dennis’ best character traits noticed by all was his strong willed spirit that NEVER gave up!

A funeral service will be held in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 2:00pm. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm, just prior to the service. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park.

In addition to his father, Dennis is preceded in death by his brother, Danny Medlin, his grandparents, several aunts, uncles, and cousins in North Carolina and Virginia.

Dennis is survived by his mother, Alice Medlin; sons, Matthew Medlin and wife Rachel and Daniel and wife Cameron; grandchildren, Jack, Henry, Wyatt, and Sawyer; one brother, Dale Medlin and wife Carol; and nephew, Lacy and wife Hailey and children Weston, and Tucker.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to Tiger, Judy, Gladys, Karen, Debbie, Brenda, and Lorretta for their support in their time of need.
