Deborah Lee Hannah of Clayton, North Carolina, age 68, beloved wife, sister and cousin, died unexpectedly on November 6, 2024. Debbie was born June 6, 1958, to the late Betty Lee Hannah and Norman Hannah, in Charleston, West Virginia.
Debbie graduated from South Charleston High School in 1974 and from Mount Vernon Nazarene college in 1979.
She is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Sami Mardini; her sisters, Judy and Karen; as well as several close cousins; including Shirley Quattro, Laurie Riner, Patricia Skula, Paulette Ross, Norman Robertson, Scott Robertson, Craig Robertson.
Debbie loved animals, and over the years had many dogs and cats that became part of her family. She loved helping others, and had worked at several organizations that helped the less fortunate.
Debbie and Sami loved the beach and travelling domestically and internationally. She especially enjoyed trips to France and Egypt and beach resorts.
She was a consummate baker and enjoyed making specialty breads and other treats for family and friends. She also loved gardening and was the envy of all for the beautiful flowers she grew.
Debbie was also well known for her love of Christmas decorating, at which she excelled.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at McLaurin Funeral Home, Clayton, NC. Visitation with family starts at 1:30 PM followed by a memorial service at 2:30 PM.
