Charles "Chuck" Marion Holly, Jr.

Charles (Chuck) Holly, 78, of Raleigh, North Carolina passed away on September 27, 2024. A native of Aiken, South Carolina, he was born to Charles Marion and Gwendolyn Cone Holly in 1945. Charles never liked the spotlight, but was a sweetheart of a man. He silently walked his own path and allowed everyone to be “themselves”. His good nature and willingness to help others were ever present.

Charles graduated from Aiken High School and the University of South Carolina with a degree in Journalism and Marketing.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Gwendolyn, sister, Carolyn Beiers, brother Jim Holly.

He is survived by his life partner, Tim Brooks, pet joy Shadow, sister-in-lawn, Charlotte Holly, brother-in-law Fred Beiers, Nieces, Holly Moore, Kimberly (Marty) Sawyer Nephews, Rusty (Kay) Porter, Michael (Julie) Holly, Matthew (Emily) Holly. Several great nieces and nephews. His Brooks family, Carl, Jim (Cathy,) and Linda Brooks, and many friends in Raleigh as well his “Cone” cousins.”

A visitation at 2 pm and funeral service at 3 pm will be held Saturday, October 5th, 2024 at McLaurin Funeral Home, Highway 70, Clayton, NC

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the charity of one's choice, or Western NC Relief Fund due to Hurricane Helene.

His body is being donated to UNC School of Health, Chapel Hill, North Carolina. His ashes will be Interned in the Siler Memorial Gardens, at Pullen Memorial Church in Raleigh, North Carolina.

A private inurnment of Charles' cremates will be held at a later date.
