Cathy Ann Coats Mundy, age 73, of Selma, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 20, 2023. Cathy was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and friend to all that knew her. She retired from her career in the nursing field as a CNA helping others who needed it.
Cathy is survived by her husband, Richard Lane Hayes; daughters, Tammy JoAnn Mundy of Selma, Heather Elaine Mundy of Dunn and Angela Ann Chambers of Wake Forest; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren; brothers, Tim Coats (Jobe of Philippines), Michael Coats (Lynn) of Clayton; sister, Sharon Fields (Jerry) of Benson.
Cathy was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Lynn Mundy; grandson, Scotty Glenn Locklear; father, Joseph Jefferson Coats; mother, Ruth Elaine Coats and sister, Nancy Jo Coats (Ray).
A memorial service for Cathy will be held on Tuesday, January 24 at 1:00 in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service.
