Betty Walton Brinkley

Visitation will be held at McLaurin Funeral Home at 2 pm on Friday, February 1, 2019, with the service beginning at 3pm. The Reverend H. Lee Marlow and Kent Walton will be officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by McLaurin Funeral Home.

Mrs. Brinkley was born in Wake County on July 26,1946, and was the daughter of Maylon Walton and Helen Jordan Walton. She graduated from Clevland High School. Betty married Paul Sherwood Brinkley I, and together, they had 2 Children. During her career, she held numerous jobs; including accounting, sales, and production. Among her favorite professions was the time she spent at Sam’s Club in their floral department making flower arrangements. One of Mrs. Brinkley’s highest honors was the publishing of two of her poems.

Mrs. Brinkley is preceded in death by her husband and parents.

She is survived by her son, Paul Sherwood Brinkley II and wife, Angie; daughter, Sherry Brinkley Marlow and husband, Lee; brothers, Danny Walton (Becky) and Randy Walton; sisters, Shelby Johnson (Alton), Alice King, and Kim Walton; grandsons, Matthew Marlow (Erin), Andrew Marlow (Kristi), Adam Marlow, and Chris Whitley; granddaughter, Erica Stone; great-grandchildren, Noah, Sophia, Alayna, and “Tator Tot”; several nieces and nephews, and a very special sister-in-law, Sue Brinkley Waller.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who called, visited, and showered mamma with love during her illness. You all meant the world to her.
