Amy Lee White, 83, of Daisytown, PA, passed away on June 15, 2019 in Clayton, NC. Amy was born in Daisytown to Ida Owens and Flemon Ernest Dale on March 8, 1936. She worked as a Cosmetologist for 25 years. She had passion for hair and beauty. She enjoyed bringing out the beauty of people she encountered every day with her creative talent.
A loving mother and proud grandmother, she will always be remembered as the true heart of her family who kept everyone centered. She loved holidays and family get-togethers. Any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. She would spend hours cooking and preparing for her family and friends. Her hobbies were shopping, cooking, and watching movies. No one was a stranger to her. She could start up a conversation with anybody and you would think she had known them for years.
Mom was known for her feisty, yet good sense of humor. She always told you the truth even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear. Everyone always knew where you stood with her. She liked you or she didn’t, it was black or white. Mom was the strongest woman I’ve ever met. She wasn’t afraid of anyone or anything.
Mom, you have given so much and asked for so little in return. Thank you for always being there for us, for teaching us, listening to us, helping and forgiving us, loving us, and always, always paving the way for us. We will work hard to reach the standards you set. Farewell sweet Mother. You were simply magnificent. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
Amy is survived by her daughter, Yolanda Knox, and son, Clarence Winn III, and 14 grandchildren, Arthur Michael Jackson, Nikkea Knox, Mariah Knox, Jennifer Hiller, Clarence J. Winn IV, Christopher Winn, Cayla Winn, Erik Winn, Brandon Winn, Sarah Woodruff, David Woodruff, Leah Woodruff, Misty Winn, Anthony Mitchell, and 10 great grandchildren, Jada Williams, Andre Oristo Jackson, Sarai Amy Lee Jackson, Keavon Staples Jr., Sarah Winn, Skylar Winn, Sania Winn, Sasha Winn, Aunisty Woodruff, and Houston Woodruff.
