Irene (Reno) embraced Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Sacramento, California. Irene (Reno) met Mary Lou Medical and became best friends at an early age. Like two peas in a pod through trials and tribulations they remained best friends throughout life.
Irene attended public schools in Sacramento, CA and graduated from Sacramento High School in 1967, where she actively participated in many activities. She was on the drill team, played volleyball and basketball and was candle bearer (1964 -67). In 1968 Irene married Calvin Martin and their union gave life to daughter Keysha D. Martin.
Irene (Reno) pursued her educational aspirations and obtained a Master of Arts degree in Medical Assistance (MSMA), from Brymans Medical School, in the Bay Area of San Francisco, CA. Her occupational career included services with UC Davis Hospital and Kaiser Permanente - North/South Sacramento. She retired from Kaiser after 30 years of service.
Irene met and married the love of her life, Bob Reid. Irene (Reno) had many hobbies such as gardening, shopping, traveling, cooking, photography, dancing, eating and socializing. She was always upfront with people, whether they liked it or not. However, her ultimate passion was serving the Lord Jesus Christ and sharing her love with family, friends and her precious grandchildren.
Irene (Reno) rededicated her life to Jesus Christ and joined New Home Missionary Baptist Church, Sacramento, California, with her loving husband and best friend, Bob A. Reid, where she served as a deaconess until the Lord called her home. Irene Lee-Reid departed this early life on March 12, 2015 in Sacramento, California. She was preceded in death by her Father, Robert Ellis Lee; her stepfather, Bennie H. Eason; brothers, Robert Ellis Lee, Jr. and Raymond L. Eason and niece Jessica Rae Jordan.
She leaves to mourn her death a loving Mother, Amanda Eason; beloved husband, Bob A. Reid beloved daughters, Keysha D. Martin, Brandi G. Reid, Venus A. Reid, and son Jamar S. Reid. She also leaves six grandchildren: Keenen Smith, Davion Andrews, Jordan Reid, Marquail Quailey Sarente, Kaleb Mc Quillen and Jamar Reid Jr.; Three sisters Juanita Castille (Charles), Brenda Lagula (Patro) and Kimberley Lee; Four brothers, Leon Taylor (Ruby), Steve Lee, Benny Lee (Deborah), and Ray Lee (Bettina) along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Irene (Reno) was loved and well respected by many people and will be missed by a host of loving relatives and friends.
