Carl (Gene) Hall, born March 15, 1941, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2024, at the age of 83. Gene was a beloved member of the Circleville community, known for his dedication, craftsmanship, and love for his family. Gene graduated from Circleville High School and worked at Lindsey’s Bakery, one of Gene's proudest achievements was his involvement in creating the first big pumpkin pie for the Circleville Pumpkin Show, a tradition that continues to delight visitors each year. He retired from PPG Industries, where his hard work and commitment were highly respected by his colleagues. Beyond his professional life, Gene was a passionate gun collector, a hobby that brought him much joy and connection with fellow enthusiasts.
Additionally, Gene's skilled craftsmanship is memorialized in the base of the cannon displayed in front of Memorial Hall, a lasting testament to his dedication to his community. Gene was a long-time member of the AMVETS and the Pickaway County Sportsmen. He loved working out and going to the YMCA. Known for his playful spirit, Gene loved to mess with people and had a great mischievous laugh that will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. He also taught CCW classes, sharing his knowledge and passion for firearms safety with many. Gene would have celebrated his 63rd wedding anniversary with his beloved wife, Sharelle Hall, this June 17th. His devotion to Sharelle and their family was unwavering and a cornerstone of his life.
Aside from his wife he is survived by children, Shelley (Ty) Caudill and Scott Hall; grandchildren, Ashley (Chad) Cupp, Chelsea (Colin) Davy, Courtney (Josh) York, Allison Caudill; great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Dalton, and Aurora; brothers, George Hall, Ricky Hall, Henry Hall, John Hall; sister, Janie Sawyer; special friends, Randy (Kristy) and Doug (Jan) and special daughter Heather Notestine, Kate and Elle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Nancy (Tuggle) Hall.
Gene chose to be cremated and requested no service, in keeping with his humble nature. His family respects his wishes and cherishes the many memories they have shared with him. Gene's legacy of love, humor, and dedication to his community will continue to inspire all who knew him.
