Ronald Monroe Welch

Ronald Monroe Welch of Chula Vista, California, passed on March 14, 2020, at the age of 66. “Ron” was born to parents Elizabeth and Harold Welch Sr. on January 24, 1954, in Des Moines, IA. Ron was the youngest of six boys. He was a graduate from Des Moines North High School and went on to train with Xerox corporation as a copier repair technician. Ron was a spiritual man who loved to joke with everyone. Anyone and everyone who crossed his path had a lasting memory.

Ron met Yasuko Franklin while working as a technician in 1996, and a year later, they went on their first date. They were married on December 20, 2004. Ron is survived by his loving wife, Yasuko, His two sons; Anthony and Ron Jr (Josephine), daughter; Angella, two stepchildren Azuma Franklin, and Mariko Franklin. His brothers, Grandville, Michael, Larry and Jack, his seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones.

He is preceded in death by his parents and older brother Harold Jr.

No public service will be had. A small celebration of life will be March 19, 2020, in Chula Vista, Ca, at the home that Yasuko and Ron made together. Cremation of Ron’s earthly body will take place, and the ashes will remain within the family. The family is grateful for condolences, all other forms of gratitude should be sent to the home of his wife, Yasuko.
