June 30, 1941 to October 23, 2012
Mike was born to parents, Tom and June Ary, in Long Beach, California. He was a native of Southern California and enjoyed seeing the changes in his native state of California as he grew up.
Married to Norma Tagaban on Jan. 13, 1966, they both moved from Imperial Valley to National City in 1967. He joined the work force and went to junior college where he received his associates degree and later, his bachelors degree. Mike and Norma then moved to Chula Vista where they settled in to their community. They were married 46 years and were looking forward to celebrating their 47th Anniversary.
He worked as a Real Estate Realtor and appraiser for 30 years and loved the freedom this job gave him to travel the world and to little-known niches in San Diego County. He had the opportunity to travel Europe (Paris) with his daughter Michele and (Germany) with his granddaughter Brandy while searching for his ancestral roots.
He loved camping and hunting with his friends and family. He loved taking his two oldest grandson's camping at "Rat Tree" in the desert where he taught them the basics in how to survive and deal with the elements along with how to ride a motorcycle. During this time he shared stories of his childhood camping experiences with his parents and brothers.
He was a member of the Chula Vista Masonic lodge 626. He became master of the lodge 1999 where he served with diligence and loyalty. He was a member of the Scottish Rite and Shriner's of San Diego.
He is survived by his mother, June Ary, father Tom Ary (predeceased), loving wife, Norma, his brothers Tom, David, Brock and Steven (predeceased), their three daughters, Sonia (Gilbert), Patricia (Saul) and Michelle (Russell) their 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, whom he thoroughly enjoyed and was very proud of.
Gravesite services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012 at Mount Hope Cemetery.
