Harold "Hal" Lloyd Williams, departed this life and into the arms of his holy father, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, March 10, 2013, at 6:11 P.M. Hal passed at the Sharp Hospital Hospice Care, Lake View Home in La Mesa, Ca. He is a resident of San Diego, Ca. Hal is married to the former Almedia Maria Hatcher of Pensacola, Fl. They were married on Sept. 10, 1943 in Pensacola. Hal was born in Patterson, Passaic Co., New Jersey, on January 22, 1922 to Leo Lloyd Williams of Nebraska, and the former Ethel Agnes Van Gelder of New Jersey. His paternal grandparents are William Marion Williams of Illinois, and the former Francis Ellen Bondurant of Iowa. His maternal grandparents are Levi Hopper Van Gelder of New Jersey and Agnes Fonda of New York.
He leaves to mourn besides his wife Almedia, of the home, his sons; Robert "Bob" Thomas Williams and wife Sheryle Petrussa King, and by a former marriage, daughter Cynthia "Cindy" Rene' Williams - Baker (Barry Shannon Baker) and son Edward "Eddie" Troy Williams. His other son Jack Lloyd Williams, wife Martha Jean Elliott and their daughter Kathryn "Kathy" Suzanne - Buchans (James Curtis Buchans III). Hals great grandchildren are: of Cindy are Joshua Troy Redden, Kathleen Elizabeth Pauls, Lindsey Elise Pauls, and Alexis Shannon Baker; of Kathy are Michael John Buchans and Emily Marie Buchans. Step children of Bob Williams are Patty McAlpine (Stuart) and Amanda Spurgeon (children: Aylah, Anyah, Lucas, Ireland). And many many other family members and friends.
Hal was the most wonderful husband, dad, and Papa. He loved his wife so much and it seemed everyday he must have told her how much he loved her at least 50 or 60 times. They are the most loving couple you would have ever met. You would always see them holding hands everywhere they went. He loved everything about his family and bragged to everyone what a great family he has. Once you met Hal, you were his friend forever. He is a religious man and loved his church. Before he got too old he was an elder of his church. Hal was a career Navy man achieving the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer. He retired from the Navy on January 10, 1968. After his retirement he worked for Pacific Southwest Airlines in their maintenance departments planning office until the airlines merger with U.S Aiways.
Arrangements are by Humphrey Mortuary of Chula Vista. He will be cremated and inurned at Miramar National Cemetery on March 22, 2013.
