She was born in Wellington, New Zealand on August 25, 1951 to Kenneth D. and Maude A. Milne. Kitty was the youngest of four girls in the Milne family.
Kitty received all her schooling and college training for bookkeeping in New Zealand before moving to the United States in 1972. It was at NTC San Diego where she met her husband, Johnny Jackson and they married on November 23, 1973 at that historic chapel. She became a United States citizen June 30, 1989.
Kitty has worked at the famous Hotel Del Coronado, Kephart Plumbing, C&C Glass company, SDCCD and retired from the SDUSD accounting department in 2017. She was involved in the first county CERT program that was run by the Coronado Fire Department and assisted Coronado PD Officer Brian Hardy with the annual Teddy Bear Drive for many years. Kitty also coordinated an annual Christmas hayride at the military Strand Housing units for the residents of that community. She enjoyed decorating the lobby of the Chula Vista Police Department for the Christmas holidays.
She is survived by her husband of over 46 years, RMCM Johnny Jackson (Ret); son, Johnny Jackson Jr; daughter, Jeanette Jackson Wright; son-in-law, James; triplet grandsons, James D./Johnny D./Jackson D. Wright; granddaughter, Alyssia Wright; sister, Mary (New Zealand) and brother-in-law Kevin (New Zealand). Nieces Karyn, Jodee, Noella; nephews Darcy, Brent, Lee Jason of New Zealand and Australia, and other relatives and friends.
Kitty will be cremated on October 8, 2020 and a celebration of life will be held at a later date and time.
