It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sgt. Carl Daniel Manzano, an honorable veteran of the U.S. Army, who passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 07, 2024, a day before his 64th birthday.
Carl was born on Oct. 08, 1960 at Mercy Hospital, San Diego to Charline and Albert (aka Sonny) Manzano, and was known from a young age for his unwavering sense of duty, loyalty, and humor. He answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army, where he earned the rank of Sergeant during his distinguished career. Throughout his service, Sgt. Manzano was recognized for his dedication and mentorship to his comrades in arms, while still providing comedic relief and a good home cooked meal while out in the field.
Affectionately known as "Bubba" to his friends and family, his humor and free spirit touched the lives of everyone he met. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend who you could always count on to lend a helping hand and to have your six. Bubba's presence was always well known and respected.
Bubba is survived by his mother, Charline; siblings, Carline (and Paul), Alanio (and Jorge), David, and Eman (and Marian); nieces, Tarah and Taylor; nephews, Erik and Andrew, as well as countless friends and comrades who will always cherish the memories of his laughter and love. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
