Augusto Escobar Rivera

Augusto E. Rivera was born on August 13, 1937 to Cornelio and Avelina Rivera in Bacoor, Philippines. He was the oldest of 6 children. To support his family he enlisted in the US Navy in 1957. While stationed in Honolulu, HI, he met the love of his life, Theresa Lastimado. They married on June 11, 1966. Their children are Reynaldo, the twins (RIP) Cornelio & Rita, Jeffery, and Marissa. He continued caring for his own family and family in the Philippines after retiring from the US Navy in 1977 by working for the US Postal Service for 25 years. Throughout those years, he watched his three children grow into adults, find careers, and establish their own families. Augusto's legacy also includes 6 grandchildren: Meighan, Armando, Brendan, Luisa, and the twins Grace and Faith. He doted on all of them and being Grandpa brought out a whole new level of loving playfulness. Augusto was the embodiment of strength, humility, perseverance, dedication, compassion, and love. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
