Elvira Torres, 68, of Pomona, passed away September 26, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on April 29, 1948 in El Limon, Jalisco, Mexico and lived in Pomona for the last 24 years. Prior to her move to Pomona, Elvira lived in Brea for 21 years. She loved her family and dedicated her life to taking care of them.
Elvira was a woman of faith and an active parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Pomona. A prayerful woman, she was a member of the Guadalupanas. She loved being outside and enjoyed gardening.
Elvira is survived by her loving husband Alfredo Torres; daughter Teresa Ruiz; son Freddie Torres; grandson Izaiah Ruiz; granddaughter Yimia Ruiz and son-in-law Sergio Ruiz. Elvira is preceded in death by her daughter Yimia Torres who passed away in 1999.
Visitation hours will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Funeraria del Angel Chino with rosary at 7 p.m. A mass will be celebrated 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pomona. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Pomona..
