Willie "Sissy" Russell Cagle

Sissy was born on the 7th of October in 1944 in Landis, NC. Her mother died when she was five years old. The whole Chapman family reared her. She passed on November 2, 2024.

She will always be remembered as a sweet, courageous, and determined woman. One of her proudest accomplishments included attaining her high school diploma at the age of 52. Although she was never a biological mother, she was a mother to many. Her world revolved around her great niece Jessica Hensley Mitchum as well as Jessica’s two children Maddie and Joe Luke.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Mike Cagle; one stepson Heath Cagle; Heath’s children Landis and Emma; one stepdaughter Traci Allman; Traci’s children Zach and Zari; and three sisters Sue Shara, Elaine Howle, Paula “Paulie” Bradley.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 12PM to 1PM at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home with a service to follow. A private graveside service will be held at Green Lawn Cemetery of China Grove.
