Born on January 20, 1962 in Iredell County, he was the son of the late Ray Sloan Atwell and Blanche Nanney Atwell.
Educated in the Rowan County Schools, he was a farmer and worked in recycled waste.
Those with cherished memories is his son Brian Atwell, sisters Barbara Atwell Jones, Patty Green "Butch" and Debbie Freeze (Darryl) and brothers, Chris Atwell (Betty), Mike Atwell (Linda) and David Atwell (Cheri). Also surviving him are 7 nieces and 1 nephew.
A visitation for Tony will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home, 1420 N. Main St., China Grove, NC. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 12:00 PM at Willow Valley Cemetery, Mooresville, NC.
