Shirley Mae Hinson Kepley

Born in Rowan County on March 8, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Jasper Hinson and Mary Hill Hinson.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was also preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd W. Kepley; two daughters, Cynthia A. Shaver and Rebecca K. Weddle; one son-in-law, Keith Black; one granddaughter, Jennifer Leon and several brothers and sisters.

Shirley retired from Linn-Corriher Corporation and was a member of Canaan Baptist Church, where she had sang in the church choir.

She loved to go fishing and the beach. She enjoyed being outdoors gardening vegetables and flowers. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially Sunday dinners.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Lloyd E. Kepley (Rebecca) of Linwood, NC, Robin Black of Gold Hill, NC, Elaine Lagamba (Mike) of Shallotte, NC and Belinda Kepley of Salisbury, NC.

She is further survived by eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren, and one sister, Faye Eller of Landis, NC.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 15, 2024 from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM at Canaan Baptist Church.

The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM at the church with Rev. Bruce Graham officiating. Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Park.
