Born in Rowan County on July 19, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Cardell Hess and Ruby Helena Almond Hess.
Sherry was a homemaker who loved music and her family. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, one sister, Deborah Elaine Hess Williams; one brother, Donnie Hess and one stepdaughter, Lynnette Hughes, also preceded her in death.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 32 years, Paul Hodge; two sons, Travis Pickett (Sandy) of Mint Hill and Brian Pickett (Renee) of Lexington; one stepdaughter, Stella Storey of China Grove; two brothers, Ricky Dean Hess and Harry Hess; one sister, Jennie Hess and numerous grandchildren.
