Michael Lester Bruce

Born in Roanoke, VA on August 3, 1944, he was the son of the late Claude G. Bruce and Merrill G. Bruce.

Michael was a graduate of West Rowan High School – Class of 1962. He served our country in the United States Air Force for 8 years, where he received many awards and accommodations. He was a Crew Chief on the C-130 aircraft.

After his time in the military, he retired after 30 years of service from Norfolk-Southern Railroad, working as a Senior General Foreman.

Michael had many hobbies that included boating, fishing, motorcycles and traveling. He loved his wife and son immensely and enjoyed spending time with family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Betty RIdenhour Bruce of the home and son, Michael Scott Bruce of Salisbury, NC.

The family will speak to friends Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home from 1:00 PM – 1:45 PM.

The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM in the Northcrest Chapel of the funeral home, followed by a committal service at Rowan Memorial Park with military honors.
