Joel Baxter Prevette

Joel Baxter Prevette, age 89, of Salisbury passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2023 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. He was born on April 6, 1935 in Randolph County and was the son of the late Joseph Joshua Prevette and Clara Jane Foutz Prevette. He served his country in the US Army and worked at Owens Illinois Box Factory as a mechanic. In his spare time, he enjoyed making model rockets, watching NASCAR and riding motorcycles. Gardening and being with his pet cat Tonto were some of his favorite things.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded by his daughter Beverly Ann Prevette and a brother Oliver Prevette. Those with cherished memories are his wife of 71 years, Joyce Ann Roberts Prevette, son Joel Dean Prevette (Sandra) and daughters Christine Keistler (Mike) and Melissa Prevette Rollins (Richard) as well as his brother Ralph Prevette (Cheryl) and sister Marlene P Helms. He had 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home from 5:00 till 6:00 pm with memorial service at 6:00 pm also at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Snipes, officiating.
