Frances Thompson Kimball

Mrs. Kimball was the daughter of the late Caleb Arthur and Willie Viola Thompson. She was a graduate of Mt. Ulla High School and Queens College, and was a homemaker whose greatest joy was her family.

A longtime active member of Lutheran Chapel Church, she served in many roles including pianist and Sunday School teacher in the Children’s Department, circle member, and altar guild member.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kimball was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, C. A. Brown Kimball, and a sister, Callie T. Biles. She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Kimball Porter and husband Barry of Kannapolis, her son, Donald William Kimball of Mooresville, sister-in-law, Martha Kimball Dayvault of Concord and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Lutheran Chapel Church in China Grove from 10:00am to 10:45am on Thursday, October 10, 2024 and the funeral service will follow at 11:00am at the church conducted by the Rev. John Tucker. Entombment will follow at West Lawn Mausoleum in China Grove. Memorials may be made in Mrs. Kimball’s name to Lutheran Chapel Church, P.O. Box 152, China Grove, NC 28023.
