William Richard Ulmer

William (Bill) Richard Ulmer passed away peacefully on November 11, 2016 at Chilliwack, BC at the age of 84. His journey began in Mervin, Sask. and ended in Chilliwack, BC. Bill’s travels spanned 3 provinces and one territory throughout his early years and his career with Baines Manning, Manning Construction and finally Kingston Construction. He worked hard and played hard enjoying such sports as baseball, rugby and hockey and in the later years, a good round of golf. Bill’s final years were spent relaxing at home with his wife, spending time with family and chauffeuring and enjoying the activities of his grandchildren. Bill will be sadly missed by his wife Isabelle, his children Chuck, Bill Jr. (Susan) and Lana (Jim), his grandchildren Rande, Jesse, Kylie, Brandon and Emily and by his brother Arn (Canby), sisters Clara and Linda (Don), Isabelle’s family and many nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his father Fred, mother Lydia, daughter Laurie and brother-in-law Ernie. A Visitation will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Woodlawn Mt Cheam Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 1:00 pm at Vedder View Gardens Cemetery on Watson Road in Chilliwack with a Funeral Service at 2:00 pm at Woodlawn Mt Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Avenue, Chilliwack, BC. Memorial donations may be made in Bill’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Association.
