He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 37 years Delphine; brother Doug (Lolly); daughter Earla Ann; son Michael (Lena); step-children Laurel Alves (Jim), Don (Kathy), Patrick and Dennis Allenby; grandchildren Erin (Dave), Kaine, and Maia (Carter); step-grandchildren Scott (Kaitlynn), Tyson, Dustin, Brandon and Spencer and 13 great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Nellie, first wife Eileen (1976), brother Don and great-grandson Kaiden.
Earl was born March 25, 1931 in Ansonville, Ontario. He worked on the Railway in Moosonee, Ontario, in Kirkland Lake selling insurance and finally found his career as a fire fighter with the Moosonee Fire Department. In 1975 he moved to Chilliwack to join the fire department at the CFB Chilliwack, were he eventually became Fire Chief, retiring in 1994.
Earl loved fishing, hunting, curling and golfing. For 25 years Earl and a group of friends went to Texada Island for their annual fishing trip/tournament which he greatly enjoyed, having many fond memories and a few trophies as well. He also enjoyed hunting trips with friend, family and in-laws. He and Delphine went on three cruises to the Caribbean, Alaska and Panama Canal, several trips across Canada, into the United States and once to Sweden for his son's wedding with a side trip to the Amsterdam.
Earl has left a hole in all the lives that he touched and will greatly missed by many.
A graveside service will take place Chilliwack Cemeteries at a later date.
