It was almost 2 years ago that Camille and Logan got married.  Missing you now, 5 years later, and sad that you did not get to see this kind of event that you always loved to be at, especially a grandchild.  Dad is taking his time to join you but he would love to be there soon.  

Robert and I would like to express our deepest  sympathy and condolences to the family on the passing of Lorie.  

To Jake - "Pastor Jake" - and the family.  Many great memories of your wife, mom, grandma...  Memories from church - from home; yours and ours - and -from the ball diamond.  Our hope in the Lord is awesome - because I know that there is a lot of ache and pain inside - while at the same time having a joy in "knowing" (at least in a small measure) - what an incredible place Lori is now in.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you - even as my mom and I are able to share in our memories together.  

My special thoughts to Jake and your family at this time of sorrow and loss of your wife and mother.  She surely was a great and wonderful person and we want to think of her in the arms of her Heavenly Father at this time.  It certainly was a time of mourning for me when I got the news of her passing.  May you all be comforted in knowing that she was loved and greatly respected by many people who knew her. My heart breaks for you as you mourn the loss of your wife and mother and grandmother. I  have so many memories of Lorie's amazing warmth and hospitality. And it still makes me smile as I remember sitting behind her in church watching her pull the ear of any child who was misbehaving. She was such a great example on how to be a godly wife, mother and friend. We are praying for you as you laugh and cry and remember this wonderful woman. 

Lorie and Jake Toews were two of the most wonderful people we had the joy of knowing.  As new missionaries just going to Brazil they gave us such a boost and were such an encouragement.  They introduced us to the F.C.A. and their letters of reference made all the difference in the world.  Lorie always made us feel so at home and was such a gracious hostess and such a fine example of a Godly woman.  She will be sadly missed by us and so many more.  May you who remain take comfort in the knowledge that you will see her again ...  

We remember Lorie as a amazing  woman and when I think back I can hear her beautiful laugh.  
Although she is joyfully celebrating with Jesus,  we know that her move to heaven leaves a gaping hole in the hearts and lives of her family.  What a privilege to have had a Godly wife/Mother!!   We are so sorry for your tremendous loss and pray you will experience God's comfort, strength and peace in the days, weeks and months to come.

What a Blessing Lorie was to Kirby and I.  Pastor Toews married Kirby and I in August 1975.  I remember going to the Toews home for "marriage counselling" before our wedding and Lorie trying to keep all the kids wrangled and away from the area Jake was giving us our counselling.  I loved all the visits to their home for meals, youth events, parties, Lorie was always so welcoming.  When i was 23 years old ,just before Christmas my mother passed away in a car accident and i was absolutely heartbroken , Jake and Lorie came to our home and again counselled and prayed with us.  Lorie was an amazing influence in my life and I thank God for that blessing.  Years later i sent Lorie and card with a verse on it that ended with "the joy you give to others is the joy that comes back to you" and that is how i remember you Lorie "JOYFUL".  Your family was truly blessed.  

Truly a remarkable lady. She loved everyone and so many people she influenced for Jesus.
Many memories to treasure for friends and family.

Dear Pastor Jake and family. Karen and I want to extend our deepest sympathy to you all at this time. When Karen and I arrived in Edmonton in 1976 to attend Temple Bible College Jake and Lorie were pastoring Edmonton Gospel Temple. They became our pastors and we both were so warmly welcomed into the EGT church family! It is hard to believe that 42 years has gone by this quickly. Please know that our love and prayers are with you. We prayed for you at our Crossroads Christian Assembly prayer meeting last night and will continue to remember you in prayer during this time of grief. Our hearts go out to your family.  We are praying for God's peace and comfort for each of you and we rejoice with you knowing that Aunt Lori is in the presence of Jesus.  
I remember her amazing cooking and in particular the wild berries that she forged and made into pancakes while on a camping trip to Barkerville, they were a highlight for me.  
She was always so loving and kind and super energetic and it was evident how much she loved her family!

Sharon and I will always remember the short but influential year of 1989 when we were privileged to serve with Pastor Jake and Lorie at McMurray Gospel Assembly. Their broad base of knowledge and sincere heart to serve God and His people was a great example for us younger leaders to follow.
Our heartfelt condolences to the family. May God especially grant Pastor Jake a rich bounty of His grace and assurance that His promises are true. 

Lorie was a wonderful  gracious lady who blessed us and so many others with kindness, hospitality, mentoring and prayer. We join all in celebrating her remarkable life and rich legacy.  Praying for God's comfort for "Pastor Jake" and all the family members.

So very sorry for your loss. I remember “great” Auntie Lorie being such a sweet lady. I especially loved when she laughed real hard- she looked a lot like my Grandpa. Prayers for you all!Wish we could be at the funeral. 💜
